Another beautiful weekend spent outdoors. This time I went to Ostrava. I spent two days, covering 440 km.

I left around six in the morning, exiting Prague from the east

The road my GPS selected was the more flat one to Kolin.

Buying a quick drink at a Potravniy

The first 60 km went very smooth, I covered them in just over two hours

The weather was gonna stay dry, although it was not very warm

Crappy Czech roads...

My well trained cycling legs

I arrived in the Pardubice region after 90 km. Here I would begin having some climbs

It was calm on the roads today

I stopped once every now and then for a picture. However, roughly I was repeating the section I rode before. I recognized all places such as Hermanuv Mestec etc

At noon the sun began coming out

The harvest month of August: I saw many of these vehicles in convoy. I even saw a colonne of several of these. I had to clear the way for them.

In the city of Chrudim... there was a fare going on and a lot of people were on the streets

Brewing life in the streets of Chrudim

My SW disc's first visit to Chrudim

It was warm enough but the skies looked troublesome

Bartman = biking

More familiar terrain. It was very nice recognizing all the little roads from a previous trip, but this time in a different season.

Enjoy that fresh outside air!

At the end of a climb there was Usti nad Orlici

From Prague I headed to Kolin and Chrudim. Then the road continued to Vysoke Myto, Litomysl and Svitavy. From there Moravska Trebova and Bouzov were close.

At a certain point my GPS was offering me different routes I had not seen yet

This very spot led me to unknown territory. A feeling of adventuring befell upon me.

Many new roads and fantastic views led me to the region of Svitavy

Have you been enjoying your Saturday afternoon?

In August there were noticeably more agricultural vehicles on the roads

More landscape pictures from a magic and mysterious Moravia ride...

Many pieces of the route were identical to my Linhartice ride a few months earlier, for instance this uphill part.

When I came here in February there was snow lying next to the roads

The highest elevation point of the whole day was 680 meters

When the sun comes out, it can result in some wonderful snapshots.

From a different angle...

I had taken a 30 min break at a cafe because I was well ahead of schedule. I had said I would arrive at 20:00, but with this progress that would be around 17:30. I drank Malinovka and filled my water cage with water. Then I left again.

The discoveries carried on in the late afternoon

This whole area was very impressive and I made several snapshots here, and also a video clip,

Moravia at its finest

FYI this area was at 400 m elevation

Feeling in the middle of nowhere... But then again this IS the middle of nowhere

Almost 200 km on the screen already

Just enjoy the views... I like these a lot and I enjoy making pictures like these

At a certain point there was a long climb through a forest. It went down quick enough too

Good gradients and turns. I came down from here, feeling relaxed with disc brakes

Further downhill...

Next region: Olomouc region. The 5 km road behind this sign were downright terrible. There were no 30 cm that were smooth. It was a constant beating of cracks and potholes.

Luckily also stunning sceneries and sometimes smooth roads.

Rounding up the last 30 km of today's quest

Moravia is very beautiful

So few people cycle here, it keeps striking me

Over the horizon...

The sun was setting on me. The day are already shortening, but 8 o clock is possible

Less than 10 km from arrival... There were still a few climbs

According to the road signs the town of Obectov was located closer than Bouzov itself. In other words, my trip would be a few km shorter

Bouzov, here we are after almost 250 km in the saddle

Funny story: the hostel owner was Dutch and he was outside walking when he recognized me as his guest. He was very friendly and we had a long talk in Dutch about Czech republic. His place was nice.

And that is how a beautiful summer ride came to an end. I went to bed in time because the next day there would still be around 160 km left before Ostrava
