September 16, 2016: Friday after work ride with Jan
One of my colleagues told me he was cycling from work to his place, which was near Cesky Brod. A joke became a fact when I joined him there on this Friday evening. I accompanied him there and then cycled back to Prague, doing 72 km in 3 hours.
Prosek, Prague 9, 16.50. Two youngsters ready to hit the road
From Prosek we went to Satalice
There was a minor ascent where I had to fire up a little
Unexpected and sudden rides are often very good
Meet Honzo, my cycling colleague
When we arrived in Radonice, I knew exactly where we were
Jan adjusting his backpack
We cycled from Radonice in the direction of Celakovice and then Jan took over navigation tasks
He showed me this lovely semi-offroad section. Good thing I was riding my beefy 32mm tires here.
Around 18.00h and still some 15 km to do before reaching Jan's house
That is what we call relaxing cycling
Some minor hills
Welcome to the Czech hinterland
Incoming cycling object...
That is exactly the feeling I have whenever it is weekend
During our cycling trip we had a nice talk as well. It was a superb team building activity
It was 38 km to Jan's place and it was 18.40 when we arrived. I stayed there no longer than 5 minutes and hit the road again because it was getting dark soon.
The funny part is that Jan lives exactly near the bridge where I had to cancel a ride in April because of rain. It was the exact same ride. Good part is I knew directions without navigation
Heading back to Vykan, 25 km to home from this spot
Getting clouded and dark. They warned for rain on Friday evening
Racing against sunset, a battle I was destined to lose today
It was around 19.04h but it was getting dark very fast
Time to switch on bike lights 20 km from home.
At 19.30 it was completely dark without excuses
This pic is 15 km from home. I saw bolt of lightning in the skies. That is where I realized I would have to pedal a bit faster.
I continued my way home and I arrived safely
Ten minutes after getting back home it started raining. At least I had this 72 km ride. Nice one!
