200 km, 8h30, elevation gain 2500 m.
The morning started with great weather. Even though the distance to Prague was only 135 km, I had planned a nice loop around the map. First I would go from Vrchlabi West to Ceska Lipa and then I would go home to Prague. This was a 200 km ride.
The early morning in Vrchlabi was quite beautiful. These pictures say more than thousand words
These fields were the typical view of the day and they were beautiful, I just kept making snapshots
It felt nice to be riding again in the Czech republic after my monster ride to Belgium
The first part of the ride from Vrchlabi to Ceska Lipa was through a multitude of hills, which involved a lot of descending and ascending.
The views were nice, some parts were technical, but I had disc brakes to rely on
Cycling like this filled me with joy. No backpack, perfect weather, it was really nice
Stunning secret locations of the Czech republic. It was like a hidden paradise
Fairyland in reality
On my way to Ceska Lipa I just stopped for snapshots every time I felt like it.
These cows had no right of complaining
So many steep descents here, I was quite happy with disc brakes
Moving further west
This was a breath taking view. I also stopped here for a video report.
Clearly enjoying the surroundings
There were more of these stunning views.
A new discovery in the Czech Republic
One area was close to Liberec, I remembered this from the day I went to the Jested mountain.
Everything is so quiet and tranquil here, where are all the people
If you look closely at the top of that hill, you will see a needle tower. This is the Jested mountain. I once went there in December 2015. I was THAT close to Liberec. Today would be a good day for checking it out
Fairy tales on this Sunday afternoon
How is it going buddy?
It was around 14.00 and I was close to Ceska Lipa
It was incredible how one mile could have so many switches in topography, going down and up all the time
12% downhill in the middle of nowhere
The city of Ceska Lipa was kind of disappointing, not really much to see here.
I just stopped at this potraviny for some drinks and navigated the road to Prague, which was 90 km.
Today I would be having 200 km approximately
A Can-Am quad, something for my tow brothers
I spent 30 km riding around at little roads, some of them had construction works going on and forced me to deviate, then at last, I made it to Stredocesky Kraj
It was 62 km to my place from here
This afternoon part was actually quite nice, I was sent through a lot of new areas.
The miles kept dropping and I still did not know how precisely i would be sent back to Prague
In the end I came back via Kostelec nad Labem. If I would go home in a straight line, that would have been 197 km. Unacceptable, so I did a little loop and made sure I had 200.
I arrived back home around 19.00h
Nice weekend ride!
