From Prosek I went in the direction of Letnany, using one of the lanes I had never used before. I noticed I was on the other side of the Letnany subway.
Engaging Letnany in northern Prague
Then I arrived in Kbely. My destination is Cakovice, which is on the far periphery of Prague. I am not a fan of big city life, so living on the periphery is my first choice.
Apparently Letnany has an airport. Must be a small thing...
There is also a aviation museum here, which is cool
Entrance is free!
Honestly, all of this reminds of a lot of the Shengang cycling trail that runs right next to the Taichung Qingquangang airport in Central Taiwan. There are also aircraft hanging around like this one.
Interesting to see that Stara Boleslav is already indicated here. I will ride there next week and go back home via Brazdim. Today I took a left to Cakovice.
I realized that this was the area where my GPS sends me on weekend rides going south. I liked that thought because these roads are a lot more tranquil. A nice way to do even less of Prague's crowded roads.
The vast openness of the Czech Republic is already visible in Prague's northern tip.
Winter is slowly fading away... Although there will be another cold front next week with perhaps some snow.
Cakovice straight ahead
See my own reflection in the shadow on the field? Nice one!
The houses you see in the background are located in Cakovice, where I live
This is the small lane to Prezletice where I do my morning runs
It was still cold but the views made up for that
Welcome to Cakovice, my house in 900 meters
The Church right across the street where I live.
Welcome home. Now let's get ready for tomorrow's blockbuster ride
I spent thirty minutes preparing my bike for tomorrow, by giving it a good shower.
Polish up the chains, wheels and brake pads for excellent performance.
Looks ready for the next four hundred and something km
Another lovely statistic coming up: tomorrow I will have 16,000 km on the S-Works Roubaix
