April 15, 2017: A 207 km loop in a windy Ustecky region

Garmin Activity: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1679228612
207km, 8h08, 1968hm

As I set out on this 200 km this morning, I was very unsure about the weather. It might rain

The first section was exactly similar to a February ride to Chomotov

Ustecky region after 34 km.

42 km in the saddle, the weather was still grey and there was fierce wind

It had been more than two months since I was able to ride this bike, long story with the new crank. Anyway, it felt SO good to be on disc brakes again!

Very old pension, like a motel

Then there was a section of roads which reminded me of my first ride in Czechia ever!

Cute!

Not too much climbing meant smooth progress

50 km on my disc bike meant a small reporton FB

I remember this one from November 14th 2015. Berlin already indicated

This whole ride was very relaxing

With some deliciously steep sections

I did not really ride here, even though I could

Headwinds were strong and were slowing me down

As I went further north, I started seeing more hills

Then a rather long climb followed

It went up from 200 meters to 500 and it was a very steep part. I learned that this area is called Ceske Stredohori, mountains of the middle of Czech republic

As always beautiful views on the top

A long descent over crappy roads brought me to district Teplice. The bumpier a downhill section get, the more advantage you get from disc brakes.

This 30 km segment was full of new roads, I loved it

The nature park of Ceske Stredohori

gorgeous views

a beautiful moment lost in time

typical Czech roads

I was seeing a lot of new grounds today

Township of Becov

grey skies, I thought it would rain

Once again awesome bike

The moment I did more than 100 km

Astonishingly beautiful

I found a nice little bench where I sat down and relaxed for a lunch

Very cute area

Changing skies in Stredoceske hory

On my way back the headwind turned into tailwind and all of the sudden I was flying

At certain sections I was cruising at 68 kmph, truly awesome!

Slowly I began heading home

Another spot I visited in February; when it was snow white

After a 100 miles (160km), I found myself at this spot

Under falling leafs

The remainder of the ride sent me through Melnik and Neratovice

The Elbe river

And back in Prague after 207 km

At least 200+ km done!
