30 km, 1h25, elev 314m.
Monday morning and I felt in the mood for a quick ride. I left at seven and did a 30 km detour that led to Prosek. I left Cakovice via Schoellerova street.
It was very cold but dry and I was well dressed. I was going to Hovorcovice where I could follow bike path 8100.
Small bike path 8100 that connects Hovorcovice with Sedlec and Klecany. Even though it was the last day of October, with winter time and freezing temperatures, it was dry and the skies were clear open.
It did not take me long to realize I was grabbing another wonderful moment.
A map that showcases cycling route 8100, for those interested...
There was a BIG traffic jam on that street, I just crossed it and rejoiced about riding a bike.
Route 8100 leads to the little village of Sedlec. In the meanwhile there is some elevation gain.
Clearly no access to motor vehicles. Man, I really like roads like this. Even though the surface was bumpy, I somehow evened that out with my tire choice.
During the uphill to Sedlec. Mind the crystal blue skies. It is a short ride but what a fantastic feeling.
And more of this. The days that it is dry, Fall and Winter rides are really enjoyable and have their own charm
15 km done and I connected to the Vltava, more precisely cycling track 7. There were also options for going further north, to Kralupy nad Vltavou. I was riding these roads quite a few times during summer rides.
View of little town, obviously not without its own Potraviny
As I descended down to the Vltava, I noticed a thick mist started rising. This spot still had clear vision.
However, once I was right next to the Vltava it was a different sight. I could not see the river!
In summer days these were wide open roads as far as the eye could reach. Today, that vision was limited to no more than 40 meters. Good thing there is no traffic here.
I wanted to show you the Vltava, but I failed...
As I came closer to Prague city, the Vltava mist became less aggressive and the view better.
Looking back...
I took the only exit from the Vltava which I had not taken before. It somehow led to the castle of Troja. Many cars here
Prague was more clouded than the surrounding areas.
That little street connected to my favorite road in whole Prague: the 20% steep Pod Havrankou
Again, using my lightest 32T cog and out of the saddle, I wrestled my way up that hill. Pretty steep but a great feeling to do it. This is a a view looking back.
Then I took a variation to what I normally do and ended up through some small streets.
I passed some urban area as well but in the end I made it to Prosek.
Picture taken as Prosecka, right before work. End of a short but satisfying morning ride.
