November 11, 2017: My first Czech ride after Belgiun2Bishkek

Garmin Activity: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2326476774
119km, 4h45, 1115m

I was a little uncertain about the weather, but around 10.30, I decided to go for a 100 km bike ride. I went to Zbraslav and followed the Vltava all the way south to Slapy.

It was a very sunny yet cold day

First bike ride after Belgium2Bishkek, what a special feeling! Things will never be the same again

District of Pribram

10.400 km on the very heavy travel bike were quite the experience, from that point of view, this flatbar is a fantaastic race machine, light, comfortable and with high quality components

Finding tranquility in the lost hinterland of Bohemia

Czech flag

11 November is the end of the First World War in 1918, exactly 99 years ago. I halted for a moment to think about what that means for us. Gratitude to those he fought and fell

The sky got darker and this created some fabulous effects in some parts. This picture is amazing!

I have to be honest about it: I lost a lot of weight and I have been working out a lot. I am faster and fitter on the bike and it feels fucking great! Hopefully that trend will continue

Wonderful componentry

Chateau Dobris

I passed the town of Dobris and then I started heading back to Prague. I passed this forest area with a peak of 591m. Lovely climb

Autumn leafs are everywhere

It started getting cold, only 2.1 degrees and some drops of rain fell down. I didnt want to waste more time, so I followed Route 115 directly into Prague

That was another 25km

Bad weather ahead

Back in Prague, I switched on my lights. 15 km more from this spot

Fortune has brought me back to Radotin, where Willem lives. I was here on my last right before Belgium2Bishkek as well...

It was getting dark, time to go home!

Back to the Vltava cycling lanes. I must say this iron descent part is a terrible design, for rainy days. I had every reason to be walking downhill,. I checked my brakes and my tires had no grip whatsoever. Who comes up with this stuff for a bike path?

I arrived just before it got very dark again. The last 2.5 km still had a very steep 13 percent climb, great finish! Sunday no bike ride because of the rain. At least I have been outdoors!
