58 km, 2h43, 348 hm
The weather was terrible and i actually did not plan on going for a ride. But when in the afternoon it seemed to clear up, I went outside anyway.
Mission was bike path 241 which would lead to Mlada Bolesav
A nice suggestion of different roads was awaiting me
Some nice bike paths that connected between a few villages
Some places I remembered from a quick morning ride
Cycling bridge over the Labe
Then the road led into the forest. Not a big deal, since it was minor off road only and the tires were good
It was not too wet, so I could manage on this terrain
More offroad...
After some 20 km, the moment came where I did not have any grip: It was too muddy and I was losing my enthusiasm
At this point I was just walking: Even braking with my rim brakes was horrible: It scared me:
I decided to get out of this section and then only to ride on normal roads
But the descent was still very scary
Poor bike; today it is being neglected
Old little car
Then I managed to get out and reach the paved roads: I aborted route 241 and just went to Mlada Boleslav, for the train back home
It was extremely windy and there was rain: I hid behind this little shack to wait it out a little
It would become worse...
I remembered this section for a ride in November 2015, a year and half has passed just like that!
Skies looked troublesome
Then it began raining heavily and the wind become fiercer: It was a genuine Bohemian storm
It was raining BIG time and I was getting soaked
See what I mean? Good thing traffic was low...
Caught up in a storm... Luckily Mlada Boleslav was nearby
More terrain from that November 2015 ride...
According to Murphy's law it should be dry when arriving and today that was the case. I took a train back to Cakovice: 60 km is still better than nothing...
